Template: Planning Vacations

This post is for BabyD!

From the comments, it sounds like BabyD is stressing about vacation planning.

I made a vacation-planning template for my leadership coach, so I thought I would share it here, in case it's helpful for others:

I love going on vacations with my family. I'm always so excited to see new things and go to new places. It makes me feel really present with my boys.

Here are some of our recaps:

  2. Sara!! You read my mind too! I was going to ask you about planning vacations. Thanks for sharing this. I have another question too: How do you decide specific things to do/restaurants/etc. Just a google search? You seem to find really awesome things to do and great places to eat.

  3. Hi, Christy!

I just search "Top things to do in XXX." It's usually a Trip Advisor post. I just scroll as deep as I can into the list, and I usually finds things off the beaten path.

Sometimes personal blogs will come up, and those are the best!

As for restaurants, I just use Yelp or Google Maps when I'm there. I do a quick search right before we go out to eat. Or I'll search on the internet for "gluten-free" and identify something to check out a day or two in advance.

I honestly think the trick is being honest about what you really like. When we were in Australia, we only spent four hours a day doing something fun outside the house. Because we are home bodies! But that's authentic to us and what we like.

I promise I am open to feedback and truly appreciate hearing others' insights into my choices (it's like free therapy!), but please say it in the same way you would say it if we were sitting across from each other at brunch or next to each other on a park bench while our children play.
