Movie Recommendation
Matt and I finally(!) watched a movie together this Saturday night. Don't be too impressed; it wasn't a "date" or anything that exciting. It was just the two of us in our bed with Netflix, but, hey, when you work all the time, this kind of thing is a step forward!
I always have trouble finding good movies on Netflix for some reason. I clicked on a movie called Thanks for Sharing, and I almost stopped it five minutes into it. However, I'm so glad I persevered. It is a movie about sex addiction, and I appreciated it on so many different levels. First, I really liked the characters. They were the kind of people that stick in my mind for days. I cared deeply about what happened to them (to the point where I really want there to be a sequel).
Second, I found the over-arching topic of addiction to be really interesting. Although I don't feel like I have any addictions that are true diseases, I do feel that internal pull between part of me that wants to do x, y, or z, and the other part of me that doesn't want to want to do x, y, or z.
If you're looking for something good on Netflix, I highly recommend it!
P.S. Please leave any recommendations in the comments. I seriously can't find any good movies on Netflix!

I have an ongoing list of Netflix films that might be worth watching, so am happy to paste some of it here! I haven't seen the films on this list, or haven't seen them in a long time, so I can't personally vouch for all of them, but they have come recommended: Frances Ha, Blue is the Warmest Color, Short Term 12, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Amistad, The King's Speech, Mud, The Iron Lady, The Immigrant, Edie and Thea, The Constant Gardener, The Act of Killing, The Kid With a Bike, Muscle Shoals, Man on Wire, Hoop Dreams, Don Jon, plus a bunch of great documentaries. (And a few off the top of my head that I have watched recently, and do recommend: Blue Valentine, The Hours, Flight, Amelie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Cinema Paradiso, Hotel Rwanda).
Searching for Bobby Fischer is a great movie. It is on Netflix UK so I'm not sure if you have that movie as an option in the USA
I feel you on this, Sara! I end up re-watching episodes of The Office or Parks and Rec because nothing else looks good (or isn't good, and I stop it after ten minutes).
I did recently watch Short Term 12, and it is incredible. A must watch for sure!
I just watched this 2 weeks ago and it stuck in my head too. I'm so glad I'm not the only one!
My husband and I have found it easier to snuggle up and watch a 20-50 minute TV show episode, rather than a movie. Sword Art Online (an anime series set in the not-too-distant future when full immersion virtual reality debuts and then gets hijacked) and My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic (the first few episodes of every season are extra cheesy, then they get better and more story-like and less character building).
